Other Uses for Etching

As you may know, etching can be used for many items other than glass.  It can be used to etch glass, stone or rock, concrete, flooring, metal, and wood.  The process I use is with a sandblaster called sandcarving but you can use other methods for flooring also.  Another method to use would be acid etching or a chemical solution explain over at this blog.

Etching garage floors can have alot of benefits which will allow the flooring to have better traction.  Germaine talks about making a epoxy floor which is very nice.  To make it even nicer, etching the floor before hand will create a gritty rougher surface so that it isn’t as slick.

As I said you can use some kind of acid etching solution, but there are better ways they suggest at the blog which will clean and etch at the same time.  Its most likely safer than other chemicals anyway.
