Hello all, the below is a video provided by a visitor named Rob D. He recently inherited this large piece which is called “Getting them Through”.
He would like to see if anyone has more information on this beautiful glass engraving by James Bruce. If you have seen this before or have more info, please leave a comment below.
You may have to enlarge the video to see the detail. It shows an old west scenery with about 6 horses pulling a carriage around a rocky mountain or canyon.
As you may know, we have been receiving more and more photos of his great work with this tribute post of several pieces here by someone who knew him and this 1968 engraved mirror here.

I live in Newberry Springs, CA, which is near Calico Ghost Town. I have the largest collection of James L. Bruce’ “Living Mirrors”, that I know of. I was a personal friend of the artist. My collection is going up for sale, it would be nice to keep it together but that may not be possible.
There isn’t much information about Jim Bruce anywhere. It would be nice if we all could talk about what we know of him so his artwork could get the recognition that it deserves. Dealers are hesitant to have a showing of his work because of the delicate nature of the mirrors that it is on. They are concerned about the liability because of breakage. I am looking for a studio in Arizona or Texas that would agree to a private show. We would hand carry them to the studio.

1977-1978 is the date
I have one as well. It was in a storage unit that was purchased at auction in Las Vegas. It is a 1969 image of horses grazing in a mountain valley. I do not know how to upload the image to this site but I will try.
