About: Eric Robert

My Journey: When I first got into glass etching, I was most interested in the sandblasting process and was about to spend over $10,000 on equipment advertised by manufacturers. Just before I was about to make the irrationally quick decision, I decided to research other lower cost solutions and ended up piecing together a great setup for at least 90% less. My goal through our ebook and membership area is to provide this information so you too can save, while still etching like a pro. It is my aim that a small investment in this information will actually save you thousands.

sandcarved and shaded glass example.

So I have been getting into a lot of fun things lately and recently experimented with my new low cost vacuum on-site sandblasting kit which was inspired by Barry, a fan. I tested this on the scrap piece of glass today because I was perfecting the equipment and I figured it would be great to

Post created by Jamie. I made this for my brother for Christmas. It’s 1/4 inch thick mirror that I cut from a bigger piece and I know the frame is not so great but this was for family. The frame I grove so I would not have to put a backing on it. I have

Headstone

By Ernie Robinson Not all etchings are something we want to do. My family asked if I could make a marker to show a family members ashes last location. The granite is scrap from a countertop company. A pressure is required to get depth to the etching. I use silicon carbide as a cutting media.

Silvering glass with a engraving.

If you know me, I always enjoy experimenting with different types of media and mixing other processes with glass etching. Recently, I decided to write up the process of adding silver mirroring to one of my etchings which will be fully documented for our members here. (Please give me a few more days and the

Nozzle head of onsite sandblaster.

I have always been interested in these types of sandblasters, because the most annoying part of this hobby is when the dust and abrasive involved gets everywhere. I never liked the feeling of having abrasive on my skin & hair- plus all over my clothes. I haven’t used these vacuum on-site sandblasters, but recently I

I took the photograph  and using Adobe Illustrator vectored the image. Using this vectored image I hand traced it onto the resist material to be applied to the glass. Carefully I hand cut each piece and then numbered each piece in the order I would be pulling them off. From there it was just a
