How To Share Your Glass Etchings & Build Profile

Posted on June 29, 2012 by Eric Robert Posted in Glass Art Spotlight 3 Comments

Hi All! After all the discussion I had with everyone about the portfolio profile idea, I decided to make this a success. This allows you to share pictures on the web about your glass etching art or sand carving work. Below each post that you make, you will have an author bio section which you can change. This includes a photo, bio info, and name.

To make it easy for everyone to register and start featuring your work, I made a video on how to set up your account. Also, if you have any questions about it, you can email me or leave a comment below.

Special Thanks!

Also, I wanted to give special thanks out to some of our past guest posts from members which encouraged me to do this. You can see some of their posts below, but I still need to set them up with a profile, so the post is attributed to them:

  • Ron’s LED Etching post
  • Ernie Robinson’s Mirror + LED
  • William Kolsteren 1st & 2nd animal engravings post
  • Kyle Hunter’s Sand carving
  • Glen’s Stone Sand carving

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for asking for my input. The site is well done. It might be nice to have a “readers projects ” tab that would allow readers to upload projects they have completed along with a brief description of the project. Maybe you could have a artist of the month with a Bio of their etching background and samples of their work.

Is would be helpful to have a pull down that could have a link to YouTube for demo videos. That way it wouldn’t bog down your site. Basic stencil making on vinyl or contact paper, stage carving, how to add LEDs to your projects to make them pop are just a few items to get beginners interested in carving. A lot of stuff we take for granted.

Thanks again for allowing my 2cents….

    Ernie
