Wildlife Glass Sandcarving

Posted on April 23, 2010 by Eric Robert Posted in Blog Content, Sandcarving Examples 1 Comment

Once again another awesome video showing the elegance of glass etched sandcarvings (link to the basics)!  What I always thought was cool is that you can literally etch any kind of design into the glass whether it’s a person, a name, a house, car, ordinary object or the beautiful wildlife as this video shows.  Just watch the video below or get started creating your own elegant glass by learning with my information now.

Overall, the video shows a multi-stage process and a bit of light shading.  If you don’t know, the multi-stage process is where the structures in the glass appear to stick out which is in the turtle, fish, seahorse, and the seaweed at the bottom.  Then the shading is the light cloudy appearance of the ocean water.

Shading is done by blasting the glass with a very light pressure while multi-stage carving (or just even just plain single-stage) is blasted with a much higher pressure.  The higher the pressure, the deeper the etching.

Greetings,Icame across your page, while sharceing for a type of sanblaster I could built or buy if it fits my needs. I have been for sometime comtaplating building a sandblaster just haven’t taken the time. I work with old iron, steeel etc. for restoration. Since I have downsized the type my projects into smaller items, a personl blaster would be more necessitatingI’m interested in hearing and or seeing your type blaster. If you would please contact and tell me of your plans and or ideas.I remain,J. Scott Adams478-595- 3313
