Shadeblasted Glass Art of Bengal Tiger & Models

Posted on November 24, 2022 by Eric Robert Posted in Blog Content, Glass Art Spotlight

The latest featured glass etcher is from Harish Dewani. I have seen his glass art posted in our groups for the past several years and his work is always enjoyable to look at. It is stunning!

He uses the shadeblasting technique which incorporates the process of manually cutting the stencil piece by piece. It can be quite time consuming but it creates beautiful glass art when done by a skilled craftsman such as Harish.

The below photos show some of his glass etching work of a Bengal tiger and a couple models. This art has no other medium applied and is only made up of glass. This is why I was drawn to glass etching a long time ago. It is very elegant.

He shared the below details:

I use the sandblasting technique to work with mirrors and clear glass. I use a pencil sandblaster and carbide nozzles less than 0.5 mm and I use hand cut vinyl stencils as resist.

Thank you for submitting your beautiful work, Harish. It is a pleasure featuring you.

Please leave Harish some comment love below and ask any questions.
