How to Make a Wine Bottle Planter: Wine Bottle Crafts & Bottle Cutting

Posted on August 22, 2019 by Eric Robert Posted in Blog Content, Tutorials 2 Comments

We are happy to feature a reviewer who tested out our Upcycle EZ-Cut brand of bottle cutters sold on Amazon here. Lindsey at www.KnockoutHideout.com created this video to show how she made a self-watering planter from a wine bottle.

Awesome job, Lindsey!

Just think of all the ways these could be etched to make them more personalized.

Not sure i would do this, 1 metal screen will rust and kill the plant over time I use a plastic mess for my bonsai tree drainage which will be better then metal 2 I would have to find larger bottles to repot 3 it seems a little unstable I guess some fish tank glue could fix that problem, don’t get me wrong I am always impressed with a person who thinks outside the box, there is just to many aspects that don’t work for me.

@William, that is some great points. Not sure it would rust though- they are made to hold up to weather and rust resistant. They might be galvanized. The metal screens will provide better structure to hold the plant but the plastic screen probably would be sufficient.
