How to Refill Your InkJet Printer Cartridge Correctly & Save Money

Posted on January 31, 2017 by Eric Robert Posted in Blog Content 3 Comments

If you use a inkjet printer, I am sure you will greatly appreciate this post, as it probably saves me hundreds of dollars a year (I print a lot of items with my inkjet).

As you may know, the inkjet printer is the most inexpensive option available but the ink cartridges do not last long and are expensive. It is just a pricing strategy those companies use to make a profit off their low cost printers. Many of us that etch, use the photoresist stenciling process which requires a black and white artwork printout for each new design. Since many people use the inkjet, it can be quite expensive, so here is a way to properly refill it inexpensively! Regardless if you use the photoresist process, this tip may still help you if you have an inkjet printer.

A while back, I added a tip in the Glass Etching Secrets ebook to save money by refilling your inkjet printer cartridge with this inexpensive but quality ink on Amazon here. It was the lowest priced ink I found that gives you a decent amount of ink that will last years. But this seemed to provide unreliable results.

As explained in the video, I later found that using this ink with a certain technique and tool provided in a kit has effectively made it possible to refill inkjet printers. And it works just as good as a new cartridge! I’ve been using the same cartridge now for about a year and have printed out over 2,000 pages.

Below with the links to the kit. Be sure to find a kit for your printer model.

    • Special tool with refill ink– Any of these products by InkTec seem to work listed here: http://amzn.to/2e7pHvc

If InkTec doesn’t list a kit for your printer, there may be other brands that offer them that you could try searching for.

  • Low Cost, Bulk Ink– As stated, here is a low cost source of a large amount of black ink: http://amzn.to/2dJaxNu

@s hartzer, you are correct. This info is meant to be for the folks who have an inkjet printer since it is the most prominent printer.
